Portrait Photography

This project is of portrait photography designed as an allegory.

My portrait is an allegory for hard work and exhaustion. In this, I, the subject, am wearing my usual clothes and shoes for Irish dance practice. In addition, the photo studio is reminiscent of a dance studio which lended itself well to my concept. The dramatic lighting, towel and slouched pose were all intentional choices that furthered my ultimate concept. Furthermore, I adjusted various elements of the photograph in Photoshop such as the contrast and sharpness which amplified the intensity and brought the entire package closer to becoming a perfect allegory of hard work and exhaustion.
